Tyson Fury reportedly targeted third fight with Derek Chisora in December

Tyson Fury has decided to come out of “retirement,” which comes as no surprise to anyone who has followed boxing for more than 10 minutes.

The heavyweight titleholder’s apparent choice of opponent while he waits to chase down the winner of the upcoming Oleksandr Usik-Anthony Joshua fight may raise eyebrows though.

Fury apparently wants to face 38-year-old Derek Chisora, whom he has already easily beaten twice. Chisora narrowly outplayed Kubrat Pulev last month, but he had lost his last three matches.

According to ESPN, the fight will take place in December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The outlet is reporting that representatives for Fury and Chisora have begun talks but are far from an agreement. The conversation went public when Fury took a shot at Chisora on Instagram.

“You’re driving Derek from the trilogy,” said Fury. “You call yourself ‘War,’ but you should call yourself a chicken because you’re running through a trilogy and from a career-high payday. Get that f—— sign the contract.”

Fury (32-0-1, 23 KO) has also indicated that he will be coached by longtime training partner Isaac Lowe, although it is unclear if this will be a permanent move. He is working with Sugarhill Steward.

Fury stopped Dillian White in round six in April, after which he announced that he was finished with boxing.

He defeated Chisora (33–12, 23 KO) by a unanimous decision in 2011 and stopped them in round 10 in 2014.
