Anthony Joshua came in at a career higher weight than his last few bouts, with Jermaine Franklin at a better weight.
The fighters weighed in on Friday afternoon for their heavyweight fight on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London (DAZN), with Joshua at 255.4 pounds and Franklin at 234.1.
This is the most Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) has weighed in for any fight but not by much. He had 254.0 for his meeting with Carlos Tacum in 2017. He weighed in at 244.5 for his most recent fight, losing a decision in his rematch with the relatively smaller, faster Oleksandr Usyk in August.
Franklin (21-1, 14 knockouts) will be the lightest since he weighed in at 231.5 for his fight with Pavel Sauer in 2019, after which he left the sport for more than two years.
He posted massive returns of 277.5 for his comeback fight against Rodney Moore last May and 257.0 for his bout with late-notice pick Dillian Whyte in November. He lost to White by a disputed majority decision.
The Saginaw, Michigan native has now worked himself back into shape.
