Notably, Aussies are the defending champions, while England were knocked out after losing to runners-up New Zealand in the semi-finals of last year’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan was also knocked out by Australia in the semi-final itself. India, on the other hand, had a terrible tournament as they failed to go past the Super 12s after losing to Pakistan and the Black Caps initially.

Hales made his international return for England in the recently concluded opening T20I of the ongoing seven-match series against hosts Pakistan. The right-handed batsman scored 53 off 40 balls with the willow, his ninth T20I half-century, which included seven fours, to help England chase down 159 with four balls to spare.
