Dewald Brevis reveals he idolized players like Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav

Dewald Brewis Recently shed light on his inspirations and said that he idolises many players Rohit Sharma And Suryakumar Yadav, He also shared his experience of last year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and said that he enjoyed his time in the competition.

Representing Brewis in the ongoing SA20 MI Cape Town (MICT) and has so far scored 181 runs in his seven innings. The former U-19 player played for the 2022 edition of the IPL Mumbai Indians and recorded 161 runs on the season.

Talking about his experience with the MI franchise, as quoted by News18, Brewis recalled his time with the team and said that ‘blue is in his blood’. He included Rohit and Suryakumar among the many players he idolized.

,My blood is blue and my favorite color is blue. So, to be able to be part of this one family, it’s been wonderful like the setup here in Cape Town everything is absolutely fantastic, just like it is in Mumbai. So, it’s really wonderful to be a part of this family.” Brewis said.

“I idolized a lot of players, for example, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar (Yadav) and all the other big players, I really enjoyed playing with these legends,” she added.

Asked about his current coaches in SA20, the 19-year-old said that the pair of batting coaches Hashim Amla and head coach Simon Katich It’s helping a lot to fix it.

“It is new things that you learn from him. They give you important information. Hash (Hashim Amla), he is an amazing coach and person so he brings calmness in me and helps me take a lot of things forward.” Told the young man.

“Even with coach Simon (Katic), he is amazing as a coach. So, there is always time to share things and learn from them. We always talk a lot about it and things going on with my batting. So all the coaches share such great information that you can use in your game.” she added.

“Really enjoying every single moment (in the SA20). MI Cape Town’s home ground at Newlands is a special place (for us). We’ve already had special memories (here).” Brewis concluded.

MI Cape Town lost their last game against Pretoria Capitals by 52 runs. Brewis (46 runs) was their highest run-scorer in that match, but unfortunately he could not take his team ahead. As of now, MICT are currently placed fourth on the SA20 points table and will look to seal their place for the qualifiers in the few remaining matches.
