The ongoing tussle between the BCCI and the BCCI Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) The non-participation of Pakistani players in the IPL was the subject of Khan’s attack.
Khan accused the BCCI of arrogance and imposing conditions of cricket for not allowing Pakistani players to participate in the IPL, the richest cricket league in the world. He lamented the strained relations between Pakistan and India and claimed that India behaves arrogantly as a superpower in the world of cricket.
“It is unfortunate, the relationship between Pakistan and India. There is a lot of arrogance in the way India behaves now as a superpower in the world of cricket.” Khan was quoted as saying by Pakistan’s Times Radio.
He added: “Because of their ability to generate so much money, so much more than any other country, I think they are now almost like the arrogance of a superpower deciding who they should play and who they shouldn’t.”
Khan also acknowledged that Pakistan runs a very good quality T20 tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL), Which attracts foreign players. He said that if India does not allow Pakistani players to play in IPL, then Pakistan should not worry about it. He urged Pakistan to focus on its league and the excellent group of upcoming young cricketers.
“I think if India doesn’t allow Pakistan players then so be it. We have got a good bunch of young cricketers coming up so we shouldn’t worry about that. Khan continued.
