The Washington Commanders wasted no time when a legal sabbatical period began on Monday to fine-tune their offensive line.
Washington quickly agreed to terms with former New York Giants OL Nick Gates and former Kansas City Chiefs OL Andrew Wylie. Both linemen all come to Washington with experience playing on the offensive line.
With several holes to fill on the O-line, it was revealed that Gates would start at center while Wiley was drafted to play right tackle, with Sam Cosmi moving to inside guard.
Looking at Wylie’s new contract, it is clear that he is here to start.
Per Over the Cap, here’s a comprehensive look at Wylie’s contract:
- three years, $24 million
- $8 million average annual value
- 2023 salary cap charge: $4.17 million [1.8% of the cap]
- 2023 Cash Payout: $9.5 million [4.33% of spending]
- $12 million fully guaranteed
- Contract ranking: No. 12 among right tackles
- 2024 salary cap charge: $9.42 million
Wylie is projected as Washington’s starting right tackle, but can also play guard if needed.
