Dabol left the Giants organization in shambles after several years of unsuccessful head coaches. But despite the pile of rubble he inherited, Dabol, 47, swiftly turned things around.
The culture shift was significant and urgent. Players quickly bought into Dabol – both coach and person – and it showed right out of the gate. When all was said and done, the Giants compiled a 9–7–1 regular season record and secured their first trip to the playoffs since 2016.
In the wild card round of the NFC playoffs, the Giants earned their first post-season win since Super Bowl XLVI. Unfortunately, they were destroyed the following week by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Although things ended poorly, the future for the Giants is largely bright, thanks in part to Dabold and general manager Joe Schoen.
