Report: Top WR prospect Quentin Johnston to visit Jaguars

TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnson, considered by many to be the best player at his position in the 2023 NFL Draft class, reportedly has a visit scheduled with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson in HoustonJohnson is scheduled to visit the Jaguars along with the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings.

The 21-year-old Johnson twice earned First Team All-Big 12 honors during his time at TCU, with 115 receptions for 2,190 yards and 14 touchdowns over three seasons. At the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine, the 6’3, 208-pound receiver didn’t participate in many drills but clocked a 40.5-inch vertical and 11’2″ broad jump.

Early mock drafts often linked Johnson with the Jaguars during the 2022 season. However, the reinstatement of Calvin Ridley from suspension as well as the loss of Jawan Taylor and Arden Key to Jacksonville in free agency shifted that perception. With Ridley, Christian Kirk and Jay Jones on the roster, it would be a relative surprise if the Jaguars drafted a receiver early.

Adding a 6’3 ball winner to the Jaguars offense will be a boon, with the team essentially needing more pressure across the board on defense. Still, it may be difficult to pass up Johnson’s talent if he goes 24th overall.
