Sidney Jones contract details with Bengals emerge

When looking at the contract the Cincinnati Bengals gave tight end Irv Smith Jr., it was clear that the team found a great value deal with high leverage and low risk.

It’s the same story for cornerback Sidney Jones.

According to Aaron Wilson At KPRC 2 in Houston, Jones has a one-year deal worth $1.08 million, meaning the cap hit actually checks of less than $1 million.

So for the Bengals, there are two players at minimum salary who can start. Smith could be the No.1 tight end next season and Jones could easily start at corner from Cam Taylor-Britt on boundaries if Chidobe Awuzi doesn’t complete his rehab.

Not bad value by any means for a Bengals team, but a cap tightrope to navigate over the next few years.
