Vikings Week 2 injury report sees no changes on Thursday

The Minnesota Vikings have completely shifted their focus to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

With practice on Thursday, the injury report was updated, but did not see any changes, as Andrew Booth Jr (quad) and Harrison Smith (concussion) were both the two players listed and did not practice for the second day in a row. .

Booth Jr. should be sidelined for the game as he is sixth on the depth chart and should be allowed to fully recover before coming back.

As far as Smith goes, we don’t know for sure either way. Concussions are a pain to deal with. Things can change everyday and we don’t know if he will play on Sunday, possibly until Saturday afternoon. The interesting element with Smith’s game recall is who will replace him.

Defensive coordinator Ed Donatelle said it would be a mix of rookie Lewis Caine and Josh Metellus, who would watch the action in Smith’s place.

Considering that Cine was your first round, this is a strange decision. Tomorrow’s injury report will fill us up with Sunday’s game.
